Warn M8000 and T-Max ew9000
Both are with in about $20 of each other.

The T-max has a highr rating and a more powerful motor...
The Warn is slightly cheaper and has a great reputation and warranty...
Which one would you choose, and why?

I have a Tmax. It's had NO issues, but I've only used it 10ish times but never in a 'dangling rig' type of situation. I think it'd work there, though. It seems pretty well built and seems to have some good quality components. It pulls hard and seems reliable. I just don't have 6-8 years of use on it to tell you it's the way to go.

The only issue I have with the Tmax is the warranty. It's only 1 year and the Warn has the Warn 'lifetime' warranty.

I have heard good things about Tmax, but I am a Warn loyalist!!
I started with an old m8000, I broke it in Moab at EJS many years ago. My fault, off angle pull on a fullsize 3/4 ton truck stuck in the mud.... I went into the Warn both and told them what happened, the rep took my name and address and said he would take care of it. When I got home 5 days later there was a NEW winch sitting on my back porch, with a note a call tag for my broken one!

NOW THAT IS SERVICE!!!!!!

I know have had a 9000I for many years with NO problems. I always say go WARN!!

Warn, just cause they look good. ;) I liked my HS9500i I had before. Wouldn't mind another

That's the one I've been sport'n for the last several years. Tons of use and never a single problem. It's been on two different rigs, arguably more. It'll probably be swapped onto a third rig next year. :)

I will probably, however be picking up a T-max to go on the buggy after I swap the Warn onto the TJ.

That's actually a damn good price, I paid $499 for my Warn M8000 winch years ago, from 4Wheel Parts. 4WPW is now selling them at $550 last I saw.

I like my Warn M8000, but I don't have any experience with the T-Max line. My Warn has always worked when I needed it.

That's why I'll never buy anything but Warn. They may say LIMITED lifetime warranty, but I think (obviously) the only reason the say LIMITED, is to keep their butts out of court and limit their liability in cerain situations. I've yet to hear of anyone being denied warranty coverage on their Warn winch.
