I was not sure that was Jacob City remnants, it has about 5 foundations where I think they were refining the ore. Thanks limegrnxj.
This Sunday or Monday Labor Day we are planning on going up Davenport Canyon, below South Willow. The more people the better. Just remember to close all the forest service gates and stay on the trails. There are alot of old mining roads up there for all kinds of skills and 4X4s. Lets keep it that way.
I need to stay close to home this weekend so if you would like to hook up and do some trail running let me know.

Yeah that pic you have above this one is where the main mine was located, there was a boy scout that got lost in there about 10 to 15 years ago and that’s when they blasted the entrance.

if you hike up to were that silver tower thing is, you can look down an air shaft that is part of the main mine, I had some friends that went down it on a rope ladder, before they capped it off, and they said they were down there for a very long time, and saw some wierd stuff like a sign painted on the wall that said bad air 2 miles with an arrow.

Lazarus, when are you going to be getting your rig registered? Your stock scout can make it up even on the hard trail that goes around the water shed. If you are going to have it registered in a couple of week’s maybe you can head up with me.

We will meet on the road passing the grantsville reservoir at 8:30 A.M. Sunday to run up Davenport Canyon. Like to see you there , limegrnxj and lazarus, but all are welcome .
If you are not sure how to find it go through Grantsville heading west (but if you pass the Dead Dog Saloon you passed the turn off) look for the sign turning left to South and North Willow. You can not miss the man made dam it is the only thing out there on the east side of the road . Turn up the paved road. Lets hook up where the pavement ends.
