If this goes to court it may end up costing San Juan a lot of $$$$$ win or lose. Then they won't be so ready to stand-up to the Feds next time.

They ahave repeatedly stood up to them in Court... they are STILL claiming the Upper & Lower Helldorado roads as RS2477 County Roads...

Sometimes it aint cheap to be stand-up.... They know that they have a primarily tourist based economy, many of which are OHV riders... cut them off and you kill San Jaun County...

I have spoken many of times with several SJ County officials.. they are very keen as to their approach...

Unlike SL County government.. they are very keen at ripping us off (can you say SUV swandals) What a bunch of oxygen theifs... No respect...

EZ and I met with some Utah County officials.. good people...

Hope Mayor Workman loses BAD!

It's ridiculous that the BLM wants to take action

I was out on that ride and JJ USA was very specific in telling everyone that their sponsorship of the event ended at the trailhead. The SUWA cry babies are making this thing into something it isn't. These people who went up the canyon did so with care.
They didn't hurt anything, I'm just sick of these stupid environMENTALISTS trying to shut us out of places that many of their members don't even go to or care about. I all comes down to $$$ SUWA makes big $$$ when they stir up the legal battles because most of their organizers are lawyers. :mad2:

SUWA can pound sand!! Bastards!

San Juan rules......here's another stand they are taking:
http://www.sltrib.com/2004/Jun/06172004/utah/176258.asp

First of all, BLM's so called "permit" rules are wholly ludicrous. Any group as small as two rigs technically need a "permit" to go on a trail ride. I am talking about the new requirements as of about a year ago.....the U4WDA is having a difficult time finding any place we can have our events/trail rides due to the insane expense to purchase their ridiculous insurance to get the permits. It's an abomination!! (sayeth the Lord).

EZ

I am sooo glad that SUWA felt the need to check on the Jeep Jamboree, but if they know that each vehicle crossed the stream 118 times, how did they get up there to count and how much soil errosion did they cause... I would put money that they weren't on a road that has been there for over a hundred years and is part of the biological diversity of the area...

It just strikes me that pretty much everything they do is two faced and because they have to much time on their hands...

An by the way is the best complaint they can come up with is how the vehicles crossed the stream, potentially spilling gas and oil.

I see A LOT of potential spills from their Subarus everywhere from the gas stations to the trail heads where they park them...
