I really don't know much about this axle, except that it is 27 spline. Is anyone running one successfully with a locker or spool or welded?

I've heard nothing but good things about this axle locked (or welded.) Definately an improvement over the 35. It is a smaller axle of course, but people seem to do well running larger tires. Your 37's might be a bit large, but treat the axle as it should be treated and you'll be good I'd bet.

Oh, the 37's won't ever be associated with this axle. I have 33's now, and would like to weld it for EJS.

My wife has an 8.25 in her XJ and we have been hoping to lock it soon. I know locker selection is limited, anyone know for sure what lockers fit it?

Way better than the D35. The 29 spline (later model) is supposedly a pretty decent piece (not quite a D44, but I wonder if that is because of the c-clips or ???)

I think you'll be fine with 33". I ran my D35 with 33" (gingerly). Spare parts would be nice to have, though.

may wanna pick up some shafts carrier and r/p from a 29 spline. Many guys have been running 35's geared and locked on the 29 spline with no problems at all. For the 29 spline options for lockers are basically powertrax, detroit and arb, and lincoln of course :). For the 27 spline i believe there are similar options, but the lockrite is available for the 27.

Ive been running my 29 spline with 35's for a long time with no worries or breakages, even locked. The only limitation with it is 4.56 is as low as you can go, for now.
