Welder Question?

I know a few of you have welders, I am looking to get one. Trying to stay around 500 bucks or less, I would like to weld body panels, roll cages, and just misc stuff that comes up while working on a jeep....any help would be great!

dont go with anything less than a 220V, if you go 110V before going 220V I will garantee you will be wishing you had gone with a bigger machine. For the most part, the major brands are all very similar, hobart is usually the cheapest but they also use the cheapest parts btu they are still a decent machine, stay away from the harbor freight crap...and most importantly get in touch with Jake at Airgas (tjjeepjunkie on here) he won't lead you wrong and will get you a good price.

Call Scholzen's in Hurricane and talk to Rex. Schozlen's will almost always match Airgas's prices and kick their butt in customer service. They deliver all over UT.

the problem is when you want it serviced, you have to drag it back down to southern utah (if you want to take advantage of the customer service) and they may match Air Gas' price but I doubt they'll touch Jakes prices
