Well, that didn’t last long

If that’s the case then I’m extremely lucky. Not one bit of damage happened inside the engine that I can tell.
It is heat from the lower rod bearing and is very isolated to that area........it won't damage anything else. You can tell from your pictures, just how hot it got with the discoloration on the rod and the bluing around the rod pin where it sits in the crank half.

Yup your right. I just assumed it happened the other way. Stuffer broke off, got crushed up, mangled the bearing, which then overheated. Either way I’m happy with the minimal destruction
