I'm not sure why I keep going through them, the only modification I had was an edge ez, I just put in some bosch 275 injectors a few months ago. I had Gillette replace it with a stock pump each time, I'm actually going to take it in this week for the 5th time. My fuel pressure drops to 5 when I'm idling.
and its not the filter? what does it read normally?

Is this Cummins specific or do Powerjokes have similar issues?

Nope, our fuel is pressurized in the injectors. Thus we have the HPOP to supply the pressure to push the fuel out of the injectors....HPOP can git up around $1k, but there are options. We only have a "regular" fuel pump. Lots of aftermarket options if the Ford one dies....I am looking at upgrading mine....both HPOP and fuel pump....Yours in the SD is what I upgrade to.

Not a CTD problem, but apparently Dodge recommends you NOT use Bosch Platinum plugs in ANY V8 or V10 trucks. I have the 10.

I had the center come out of 2 plugs on saturday while towing to rattlesnake. I find out today if I get a new motor or not. :(

She only has 92K on her...........

Well, speak of the devil. Mine started to choke up and stall today on my way to work.

I'm going to get a pressure guage tomarrow to see if it's the LP. I'm hoping it's just my throttle sensor. :(

mine use to stall after I would tow for awhile and then came to a stop. the idle would drop and then go back up until it would finally quite and the gas pedal wouldnt work. Then I would turn it off then start it back up and nothing was wrong. I think it has more to do with the tps, but lately it doesnt feel like it has the smooth power that it use to have. Its almost like a choppy powerband the last couple of months. Ive also been running a 100 hp chip and have 98000

Hey James,
I don't know if you are doing the work yourself but the guys at Wide Open Performance did the lifter pump when mine went out and cut dtoy a deal when they did his IP and LP. Both of us have been really pleased with their work.

Me too. :-\

I could be wrong, but I read somewhere that they put the LP in the tank (pushing instead of pulling) and the problem has been solved.

Might want to search DTR for that one though.

my CTD work truck did the exact same thing, except i didn't need to be towing. Every few days outta nowhere it would just start to sputter until it slowly died, and the gas pedal did nothing. Then I'd start it back up a few seconds later and it was good to go for a few more days. It cost like 650 to fix. Don't rememer exactly what the problem was. It's better now though.

Are you REALLY sure you want to change it out yourself? It is a total PITA even for the guys who specialize on CTDs. My dad just had his done in November and I know what a pain it is. If you do get wise and decide to farm out the work I can recommend one of the best shops in the state for the work (Baker's Diesel Injection Service: talk to Jason, he is the CTD specialist).

Even better, just got an update! I get a total topend rebuild, I think I am going to call Bosch and see about kicking down some cash. They are going to tell me to pound sand but it's worth a try.

After a leak down test, #8 let off 70% through the intake?? Bottem end looks good though........
