west slopes of Oquirrhs

is there any offroad access on the western slopes of the Oquirrhs? looking at google maps, there seems to be some decent dirt roads, but im assuming that this is all closed off by Kennecott, other than Middle Canyon/Butterfield

There are a lot of dirt roads accessible in the foothills. I don't know of any in the canyons.

Most of your access will be at the south end of the range. Kennicott owns the north side. South of tooele there are lots of dirt roads. Soldier canyon is nice, but pretty heavily used. There is also access at the mouth of soldier to drive up to mercur, but the old ghost town is also owned by the mine

I don't know of anything that gets very far, except Ophir Canyon.

North end, above Lake Point, is public land until the summit, but no road access. Bates Canyon is main access point I know of, there is some hikes including small old mine (Shotgun is what I know it as).

Some trails above Stockton as well, access at north end of town, but again I don't think anything that goes very far.

well, we found the hot springs, lots of skinny dippers, til the kids got out of the pickup truck. not bad 2 hours down!!!
