Should we be giving any GPS coordinates to a guy with the screen name B2 Bomber? ;) haha

Tried, no luck. I even have 7.5 minute maps of the entire oquirrh mountains. (from US Geological Survey) Its not on any of them

As far as any official cartography is concerned "wayne's world" doesn't exist. I guess it is only called that on word-of-mouth

The names Rattlesnake, Constrictor, Wayne's World, Eagles Nest, Radiator Rapids, Fang, etc all postdate 7.5 quads by 30 years and given they are colloquial names its unlikely they will appear on a USGS database anytime soon. WW is close to 40°17'0.25"N 112°11'35.81"W

i wanted to know the coordinates because i pulled the old 7.5 minute maps out, which (before the days of everybody having gps) i used to use them and mark off the trails i had wheeled, i wiped the ancient faded dry erase marker off, and decided to start marking trails off as i wheeled them again. (i just got back into wheeling the oquirrhs again after several years)

all postdate 7.5 quads by 30 years
my quadrangles are all 1997, so nothing could postdate it by 30 years yet.

unless i am reading my 7.5 wrong (which i very possibly could be) i think that puts it where i drew the black "X" (at the end of the words "alma yound canyon")
but based on my most recent trip out there i think it may be more where i drew the circle (at the end of the word "sunshine")
any thoughts?

Looking at the contour intervals, and what I remember about the terrain. I think the x is correct. I has been a long time since I looked and quadrangle interval map.

Its in the circle you drew, just below and SE of where those two roads reconverge, and that's where google maps points up the coords Kurt posted...

i literally "cut-and-pasted" the coordinates from his post and google said "no results found" what the eff? might be the browser on my phone? it is usually spot on for google earth and, mapquest

funny, those are the reasons i thought the circle was correct.

It has been a long time since I looked and quadrangle interval map.

next time we all grab a burger i will bring my stack off them, and the 5 of us who have been there can argue on where we think it is

I'm guessing Kurt's coordinates are closer than that thread, if I remember correctly I had an issue with the ones from that thread when I used my GPS out there. I believe what that thread says is Wayne's World is actually Eagles Nest but I didn't look into much further than me getting confused.

Interesting... It would be good to get that thread updated with accurate info.

oh and btw i went back and my mind moved a decimal, when i measured i went 7.66 milimeters, east from the 12'30" mark, when i should have gone 7.66 centimeters east. if i move the mark accordingly it puts it puts the "X" in the eastern half of that circle

now it all makes sense:i'm and idiot, i should have assumed that going into this
