What did you see people doing today while they were driving?

I-15 South through Utah County this morning. Several people on their phones and a few of them were obviously "doing" something on them (texting, typing phone number, etc.) One guy kept swerving into my lane as he was typing on his phone - he got very upset when I honked at him. The best one though, was the lady driving an Acura MDX doing about 75MPH in a 65. She was using her right hand to talk on her phone while her left hand was holding a pad of paper from which it appeared she was reading something. Not to be too alarmed though, she did have her pinky and ring finger holding the steering wheel...

I saw someone run a red light at every intersection.....but this is utah. everybody runs reds/yellows to turn left

The thing about that is most of the the time it isn't even illegal. The way the law reads it says you aren't allowed to "enter" the intersection after the light turns red, so usually it's only the 3rd or 4th guy through that is doing something illegal.

This. You're allowed to cross the limit line on yellow, and once you do you own the intersection until it's safe for you to clear it. As long as your nose is across the white line behind the crosswalk before the light turns red, you're in the intersection and not running the red.

I didn't see anybody being retarded today, but yesterday afternoon on I15 I followed a guy with a cell phone in one hand and a burger in the other, alternating holding the steering wheel with his wrists depending on whether it was more important at that second to eat or talk.

i was mostly talking about the 'tards who enter the intersection when my light is green, or the ones who all but plow into the back of me when i don't run the red and then they honk like i did something wrong

Yup. 100% legal as long as your front tires are over the line before it turns red. Fought a ticket on that a few years back and won.

I saw a guy playing his trumpet and reading sheet music on my way to work the other day. And a woman reading a book while driving on interchange from legacy to i15.

Fought a ticket for this in PG last year. I explained to the judge that I was in the intersection when the light turned orange. He said he sees people run that light all the time and found me guilty. Love the impartial judicial branch.

I work from home but my wife texted me saying they shut down I-15 south this morning and she didn't get to work until 8:30. She normally gets there between 7:15 and 7:30. The sheer idiocy she tells me about sometimes is astounding. I'm sure she will have some good stories tonight.

My MIL (who drives a little cautious since her recent wreck) was in the far right lane doing about 40.. Some joker is riding her tail honking and flashing for her to get out of his way. She holds her course, and he decides to go around.. As he tried to merge back over in front of her he spun out into the wall. Buahaha!!

I don't understand people.. If there are many multiple wrecks along your route, shouldn't you take a hint? Maybe there is something different about the road today?

I love working from home. I did take a trip to the post office and as I was backing out of the garage the rear tires got to the point in my driveway where it slopes a little. It started to slide and I thought I was going to catch the garage opening with the front of my truck. The side roads in Kaysville look like a ice rink.
