What do I get for the next bike?

I wanted to add a helmet light but didn't want to spend $150 with Task Racing (Their helmet mount light is 4 LED and 4700lm), so I picked up a 5 LED 5200 lumen headlamp light that has a remote battery.
A little time with a dremel and a GoPro mount I got the mount switched and it hooks up to any female GoPro receiver.

Also I wanted a different mount for my GoPro because the top mount tends to snag on branches, so here is what I came up with.

Greased my linkage.

Paid to have my suspension revalved. Money well spent.

It holds the forks up in the stroke better and doesn't ride too low while hard braking or cornering and weight transfer forward and push in corners. Much better bottoming control without going too stiff on compression.

The shock made the bike feel faster, I asked Jesse why and he said when your tire follows the ground better (especially in acceleration bumps) you get better drive out of corners, so really the whole rear end feels more planted.

Before when I cranked up the compression to make the bike good in the whoops: it made handling suffer in the square edge or sharp rocks. Now it works well in both and it really kicks butt in the whoops. I'm truly amazed at how much better balanced it is in the whoops. I've never really liked the big sand whoops (back breakers) in Warner Valley and now I can really cruise through them much more comfortably without the huck-a-buck which leads to much more confidence going fast and MUCH less fatigue.

I'm really going to have to get some more miles with the new stuff because it truly feels like a different bike and I'm not as practiced with how it handles slow speed rutted corners, but I'm sure the muscle memory will come with practice.

I went through maybe 7-8 gallons of gas this weekend so it's a good start.

I personally liked my 4cs suspension before this and I know others that had ridden my bike liked it too, so I wouldn't say I was the most necessary money I've spent but I fall into the target weight window of the stock stuff. Also with 117hrs my bike was due for fork and shock service so I justified it a little based on the need to have new seals, shaft bushings and fluids. It's fairly expensive (and if you're heavier than me you'll spend even more on springs), but it's amazing now and truly it just brings the bike into the next level of performance so I can learn and push myself with more confidence.

2 BIG thumbs up for Jesse at Dirt Lab and Division MXC suspension.

Now take that brake lever off and file the corner off of it. I took the inner tooth off my stock platform and rounded the edge of the lever. Hopefully Tiffany doesn't suffer the same fate. I still don't know how you found a rock in 105 miles of sand:D

I got some Faast Flexx bars a little while ago for a good price. I'm really pleased with them. Just removes a little of the "hits".

Then recently disaster struck.
My lower shock mount bearing on the linkage seized up. (One that I just regreased in late January). The shock bolt backed out and started to rub the linkage pull rod. It wore away enough that when I hit a big rock it snapped. I had to limp the bike down to the truck.

I had to replace the linkage bearings so I got an All Balls kit shipped fast.

You can see here where the bolt rubbed.

I got a new Fastway Linkage guard by ProMoto Billet on just in time for the Knolls race last weekend.

Spend $35 and get the Obie Link Guard. It will keep all the crap from getting up into your bearings and provides even better protection for the link guard you just put on.

I just noticed the lower bearing on my shock mount had some play in it so I just ordered all new bearings for my upper and lower shock mounts and swing arm. Thinking about tinkering with it today.
