Greased my linkage.
Paid to have my suspension revalved. Money well spent.
It holds the forks up in the stroke better and doesn't ride too low while hard braking or cornering and weight transfer forward and push in corners. Much better bottoming control without going too stiff on compression.
The shock made the bike feel faster, I asked Jesse why and he said when your tire follows the ground better (especially in acceleration bumps) you get better drive out of corners, so really the whole rear end feels more planted.
Before when I cranked up the compression to make the bike good in the whoops: it made handling suffer in the square edge or sharp rocks. Now it works well in both and it really kicks butt in the whoops. I'm truly amazed at how much better balanced it is in the whoops. I've never really liked the big sand whoops (back breakers) in Warner Valley and now I can really cruise through them much more comfortably without the huck-a-buck which leads to much more confidence going fast and MUCH less fatigue.
I'm really going to have to get some more miles with the new stuff because it truly feels like a different bike and I'm not as practiced with how it handles slow speed rutted corners, but I'm sure the muscle memory will come with practice.
I went through maybe 7-8 gallons of gas this weekend so it's a good start.
I personally liked my 4cs suspension before this and I know others that had ridden my bike liked it too, so I wouldn't say I was the most necessary money I've spent but I fall into the target weight window of the stock stuff. Also with 117hrs my bike was due for fork and shock service so I justified it a little based on the need to have new seals, shaft bushings and fluids. It's fairly expensive (and if you're heavier than me you'll spend even more on springs), but it's amazing now and truly it just brings the bike into the next level of performance so I can learn and push myself with more confidence.
2 BIG thumbs up for Jesse at Dirt Lab and Division MXC suspension.
