I get 2 cardboard slip sheets from work then you can tape them together at the top and spread out the bottom making an "A" frame, to stand up. Then tape on some printable targets (targetz.com or mytargets.com is what I usually use). I have been known to shoot cheap soda cans (shasta, sams choice, ect), but that price is going up too.

 Do tell..

We bought some exploding targets from Cabelas for our last redneck trip to the desert. The ones we got had to be hit with a high power rifle and the first one we tried didn't work (using a 30-30 and a 9mm handgun) but the ones we hit with a 30-06 did work and made a much bigger boom than the gun did, lots of fun :). These target were plastic bottles of some sort of powder that required shaking before you popped them off.

Yeah, I've seen the high power ones at Cabelas, and the tannerite ones as well, that's why I am very curious when he said 22lr. If I could find something that would work with small caliber I would be very happy.:D

So....the walking targets are every bit as fun as they looked on TV. They're awesome with .22, a 9mm will dent the steel and (depending on where it hits) bend the neck of the sucker. Those are the only calibers I've tried, since the rain messed up my camping/shooting trip.

I made a few for my father-in-law's and brothers-in-law's gifts:

those look great Carl! how big are they? How thick is that steel? Interested in making any for those of us who don't feel like using a die grinder to make our own?

They're about 9" across, the "balls" on the ends are 2.5". This is 1/4" steel. I'd be happy to make as many as you'd like. :D

Would they work with a pellet gun(air rifle)? Or would the length of the legs need to be shortened?

I don't know, bring your pellet gun over and let's find out! It could be cut the same size but out of thinner material if the pellet doesn't have enough juice to flip the thing.
