What happens when an automatic trans sits for "years"?

I'm looking for a TH350 trans for my Jeep. I found one with "less than 10,000" miles. The price seems good, but the trans has been sitting "for years". What should I be concerned about with a trans that has been sitting without running for an extended period?

It's a 350, just rebuild it. $150 for the parts, and a couple hours labor. It's out of a 4X4,correct?

Its out of a 4x4, in front of an np203. Im hoping to bolt it up to a Behemoth Strong Box witth 241 iternals.
Maybe I should watch some youtubes on the rebuild. I still think auto trans's are full of magic.

I got a manual and rebuilt the one that went it to my buggy years ago. The ONLY challenging part was I tore it apart, then ordered parts, and about three weeks later put it back together. If you have the stuff on-hand, a couple hours and you'll have a freshly built 350.
