You take a set of Steel wheels with standard backspacing, and weld an outer ring to the outside edge of each wheel. Paint em, then remount the tire, and bolt another ring over the outer tire edge.utahxjer said:hey guys what is involved in the process of DIY beadlocks?

so the tire lip fits in that gap, then you tighten the bolts down onto the rubber?kruzr69 said:I just got the rockstomper kits myself. once you weld thi ring on, you mount the tire on halfway, so that the front bead is still not on the wheel. then you put the other ring over the bead that is not mounted yet. bolt the two rings together with the tire in between them and your done. Hope this makes sense to you.

thanks guys. Anymore companies that sell these? I am going to PM the locals on here and see about prices.supergper said:yeah, as Kruzr said the tire gets mounted half way and then the front bead gets pinched between the two rings (where you see the bolts in the pic)

If I were to do it again, I definatly wouldn't get the recessed bolts. Go with regular hex bolts.
Talk to Rocklogic or Rockstomper.

They might be hard to tighten down?crimsonride said:Just wondering. Why wouldn't you get the recessed bolts?
What ever type of bolt you use, they all get smashed up a bit. Regular hex bolts are the easiest to get back off after they are mashed.utahxjer said:They might be hard to tighten down?
