Now that the "what kinda work do you do?" thread is moving along, now tell us What kinda work you WANT to do.

Maybe we can help each other make some job changes, career changes, etc.

Ok, I'll start. I want to go to medical school and become an oncologist.

I love what I do, but I also want to follow the dream of playing music for a living. I have some live music recorded from last year if anybody wants to be a critic... ?

I'd like to make a living selling my paintings, which is unlikely unless I start focusing more on landscapes. That and selling picture frames, but I'm working on that and learning about the techniques required right now.

Herzog, I'd listen.

I'm working on my undergrad to become a doctor. Leaning towards specializing in opthomology right now. If I decide (read: my grades decide for me) that med school isn't for me, optometry is the backup. At LEAST six more years of school... hard school...

For me if I take something I enjoy doing and do it to make a living it quickly becomes something I HATE to do....

So the answer for me is.... anything that will give me an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I want to become famous... I like acting and singing and performing for people. It's what I do and what I like to do. I just like to make people happy. My music wouldn't be happy, but someone would like it!!

Lots of variety there (I've even thought of doing sales, but am not sure that's where I want to go)...... For the most part, I really like my current job (small company), but I could use a little more $$$$

This is a hard question. I'd really like not having to work, but still make good money! Since that's not going to happen, I'll settle for... becoming an engineer for Union Pacific.

Some other thing's I've wanted to do for a living are; Own a car dealership, fly an airplane, have a side job making lucrative money in real estate or... having a web site that did well enough that I could quit working.

Guess I better keep my job... :-\

The current plan is to be a nurse... not any nurse, but a real live nurse anesthetist! Too much fun! Then on the side I want to be able to do all the other things like sewing, cooking, being crafty, being a mom, ...welding...
