And definately by mid-summer:

- Re carpet the inside.

Stuff I need much moula for.

- Locked F/R
- 4.1 T case
- Replace clutch with alot heavier duty one.

SS, aluminum, or paint-on bed liner inside and out. Anything you have, keep it, but if youre replacing anything, do it hard core. Paint, carpet, and all that is for sissys. The only justifiable padding is the seat and the pink dice hanging from the mirror:p

I guess there is one more exception, I have my smaller brackets zinc plated (got connections)cuz it protects better than any paint. Gota paint the zinc though, can't have any shiny bling bling:D

paint is just to keep things from rusting. carpet is just to keep things quiet. I find that rubber floor-mats accomplish the same thing.

I would suggest going and buying the herculiner. For less than a benjamin you can do it yourself and you don't have to worry so much about your wires and what not (you decide how you deal with them when you are brushing it on.

Lots of comments have been made on the different liners out there (I use some stuff I bought at walmart. The key, as with any painting or surface covering, is in the prep. I am amazed at how well this $35/gallon stuff has held up. I did spend more time prepping the surface than actually applying the liner, so I think that effort paid off.

I wasnt aware that the do it yourself stuff was any good, do you prepare the surface the same as a normal painted service?

Rough it up and clean it?

I've never done it but I hear it needs to be very clean. If it has ever had any oil on it you probably need to clean it with solvant. I am sure it has good instructions on the can. I don't think I would ever pay anyone to do it for me. The prof. stuff is too expensive compared to the WalMart special.

been doing it for years....no rust so far.

your carpet will hold more moisture over a larger area than will a little rubber mat. if you keep your metal painted, no rust will occur.

go with the DIY liner stuff. Blacksheep did it to his TJ and it is TIGHT!!! I really like how it turned out!
