what rear tire to run for the knolls race?

What gave you that idea Stratton?

Well I've always grooved my Jeep tires. (After watching the so many Lucas oil races where race teams groove tire blanks for every different race course and course condition).

I actually experimented with a center groove on a set of Maxxis Desert IT's to get a little more directional traction on muddy side hills and noticed a big difference (about a year ago). That tire is truly a little too hard of a compound normally for muddy stuff.

Then Greg's post about the knobby knife prompted me to sharped up that front tread block edge.
And the hole in the edge block should add some directional grip and edges and soften up the block so it can flex on the hard shale.

And my lack of time/ dollars before this race to swap a tire (actually it's a little over 60%).
