i have been working on this all day. i have made zero progress. i am ready to break it into a billion peices and flush it down the toilet.

i think it needs proffesional help. or atleast some one who has a bit more experience than i do.

any suggestions? any body want to look at it for me?

Could it be portable? It's pretty slow at work. I could look at it there if that'd help?

Before you blow it to pieces, drop it off tomorrow night and I'll see what I can do with it.

I would have offered yesterday but I was out of town. :)

i appreciate the offers, i may still take you up on them in a couple days. we will see if it lasts, but i believe it is gone. joe suggested malwarebytes.com and it seems to have removed the problem. we will see if it got it all. the way i understand this beast, if its not all gone it keeps coming back.

Most of the time with these things if you disconnect it from the internet - remove the cable or wireless card, it makes it easier to remove the variant.

I've got a buddies laptop here with the same issue. I could not get it off (it wouldn't even let me into the registry or msconfig - even in safe mode w/o networking). I ended up installing a second operating system on it, making it dual boot on the new OS, then ran Adware twice and I think it removed it all. The third time I ran it, it didn't show up anymore. So now I'll move everything to a good, clean install w/AVG to catch anything moving to the second computer; blow his OS away, then move everything back. At least this way I can save all of his info....

I got this thing last week. AVG seems to have removed it but now my PC runs like a turtle. Things like opening the Internet take 60 seconds or so, were as it was almost instantaneous before.

Try AdAware, works great on cleaning things up. It's free also.
