What tires are you running?

Just picked up a 2005 Dodge 2500 CTD 6 speed (22k miles), and it's got Michelin LTX A/S 265/70r17's. the A/S must stand for Always Sucks, because these things are the suck in anything slick. So, what are you running on your heavy duty truck?

Those ones. I haven't been unhappy with them, but I rarely do anything with the truck except tow.

I have those same tires on my CTD and I cant wait for them to wear out,yeah there good for towing but for off road forget it.
My next set will be Toyo M/Ts I dont drive the truck that much so wear wont be an issue but I have a 12k lb trailer so I want the E rating. Kind of a best of all worlds thing also when I take it through Prichett I will get some traction J/K

I ran a set of 265/70/17 bfg long trails in a load range E. I really liked them. My truck didn't like to stop in the snow, but I attribute that to it being a 7500# ice skate.

I assume they make BFG AT KO's in a load range E. If so, that would be my ideal tire. I love those tires.

I've got the Toyo MT and really can't complain much about them at all. I've got about 25-28K on them and they still look like they have 20Kish left in them. They turned my 8000 lb ice skate into something stable on snowy roads. They're kinda weird tires, but in a good way.

With the Michelins my truck doesnt like to go when it gets slick and icy let alone stop I would be game for some STTs or BFG M/Ts but I have not found them in an E rating unless they changed recently

I ran the Dunlop RVXTs on my 01 Dodge CTD. They are severe weather rated, Load Range E. They had great traction, wore reasonably well. Soft enough that they felt a little squishy on the highway to me. I woud not recomend them for offroad use as thier sidewalls are thin.

My 1st Dodge has 285/75/16 BFG A/T's & I loved them. They rocked in the snow, that truck seemed about unstoppable in deep snow. When everyone else was stuck, I'd motor on by. They were good offroad & had good road manners. I'd buy them again. They were load rated E.

My 2nd Dodge had 285/75/16 Cooper M/T's... they worked alright, were loud and did decent in the snow. I really didn't care for them honestly, won't own another set. IIRC, they were also E rated.

The current Dodge had 265/70/17 Cooper Discoverer AT's, they're OK. Good road manners, weren't that great offroad. Seemed to do pretty well in the snow. E rated.

I just swapped on a set of 315/70/17 BFG AT's, I like them so far. They are softer riding than the smaller tires, which I'm not complaining about at this point. Rated D.

I had the Michelin LTX M/S on Ford and if your A/S meant Always Suck. Then the M/S meant More Sucky. I hated them for traction but they were good for highway.

Right now on my Cheby I have the OEM brigestone I guess they're OK but a set of BFG A/T's will replace them when the time comes.

Same tires here and love them. I really dont think you can go wrong with the KOs. They also look better than the other 99% of ATs out there. Then again, I may be biased since I've been a BFG fan since I turned 16

FWIW. I've heard nothing but good things about the REVOs as well.

BFG AT KO's.

Loved the first set I had. Killer traction in the wet and snow. Rarely have to use 4wd unless we're talking SNOW (see pic). Had a set of 295/75r16's, just bought a set of 315's. Love them even more. 9000lb excursion, towing the typical junk on the typical trailer (6500-10000 lbs). I got about 35k miles, they had about 5k left on them. D rating is more than adequate. Usually had the pressure around 55-60 lbs, only 65 on a few occasions.

I really didn't wanna get "what everyone else had" when I bought mine. What sold me was following a truck similar to mine up the snowy snotty muddy clayey road at our property...he didn't spin a tire...and I did.

Toyo MT's. Woked great for me so far, and they wear really well. Before those I had some Wrangler's, and they sucked for wear.

I had a set of Revos on my 97 Dodge 2500 CTD Longbed....great tire. My only complaint is...next time I will stick with a "E" rated tire.

Either an E rated BFG KO or E rated Revo, great choices.

315 70-17 BFG KO'S off of a Hummer. Never had a problem with them even though they are load range D.

My father in law has the Original Michelin's on his Ram and has 83,000 miles on them. He is getting ready to get another set. If you are not going to be off road at all, they are hard to beat. Search KSL.com for some takeoffs and you can get a new set for cheap.

They came with the dually.... And I've not used them for new ones, but these particular tires took a TON of miles/abuse and held up well.....

But they do not grip at all offroad at 85psi, and made me shatter a hub.

I'm running 35x12.50-17 Toyo MT's on my '04 Dodge Cummins. I love them! They are way better than the BFG A/T's that were on it, especially in the mud and snow. I got stuck twice with the BFG's, once in snow and once in the thick clay mud going up to our cabin property. Not an issue anymore. Mine seem to be wearing great also...15K miles on them and they still look like they have about 3/4 tread left.
