What to look for in a Land Cruiser

Here you go.
It's got some fancy brake master on it, not exactly sure what all the extra is for, but it looks important enough not to mess around with it. :D
Plans in the future are just the basic lift (Tundra/FJ80) and tires and some sort of rear locker (maybe a lock-right as it hasn't done me wrong in my Tacoma).
Going to fit up the Budbuilt skid off my Tacoma when I get a minute and take a look at slider options. But it's going to be a pavement pounder for a little while.

Well done neighbor, we need more 4Runners up in this joint. Give a holler when you're ready to go get it dirty.

Weren't you having problems with your Tacoma during the Utah TTORA days.

Is it possible to swap out the lockright from the Tacoma diff into the 4runner diff? It's different part numbers from what I can find.

And yes, I've had problems for a while now.

I thought all the tacos came with either the 8.4" open diff, or the 8" elocker diff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the 3rd gen 4runners only came with an 8" diff. Some had the elocker and some didn't, but they were all the 8" diff.

So if your taco had the 8.4" diff, that would explain the different part numbers and why the locker wouldn't be able to swap over.

All 3rd gen 4Runners have the 8", elocker or not, and I'm pretty sure you're right about the 8.4" in the non-elocker tacos.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Would be cool if it would work though.

Stupid question, but would the locker mess with the traction control stuff? I've never driven anything with this newfangled technology, so I'm still learning how it does what it does.

It won't. The only traction control you should have is ABS and maybe VSC, and the only effect an automatic locker in the rear will have is make the VSC come on less often.
