I know Klif01 was gettin' some wheels there...did they ever get 'em in for ya? Anybody else use them? Just trying to find a set of 15x8s or 15x10s with 2.5 or 2.0 b.s. and came accross them. Anybody?

Wheel City has their custom backspaced rims made by US Wheel. If you are extremely patient, don't need 'em quick, and don't mind that they'll come in bare steel form, go for it. Otherwise, try elsewhere.

It's possible things have improved since I dealt with them last. If ya order some, let us know how it turns out. :)

Yah I got em through my work. They were $45 a wheel unpainted reverse mount style (you mount the tire with the rim facing down instead of up) which has its advantages in my oppinion. It puts the safety bead on the outside of the rim which is almost twice as hard to break as the other bead. And I have always had trouble blowing beads on the outside. And the rim is deep. It would take a long pointy rock to get to the valve stem. Anyway it took them about two weeks from the time I called them to order to the time they delevered them to champion in orem. If you want I can order more for you. There is a thread on pirate in the toyota tech forum about another company where they were ordering custom bs rims. Not sure how long, how much etc. Good luck

An interesting side effect of running a really shallow backspaced rim (where they have to reverse the shell) is that you never have the option of installing DIY beadlock rings. The shape of the rim in relation to how the tire is mounted makes it impossible to mount... EVER!

at what point do you have to reverse the shell? does anyone know where to get some steel 17s with custom BS?

Usually, you can get away with 3" and not reverse the shell. Any less, and you're pushing your luck.

As far as your 17" rim question... you have a PM. ;)

Why not put a diy beadlock on the inside. Or another option is just to get the already painted 3.75" bs rims and run a spacer

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up orderin' some from Summit. They too get them from US Wheel. Got 15x8s with 2 inch bs. Paid $211 for 5 of them including shipping to my door. Sounds like about the same price as Wheel City.

As to beadlocks, I did read that about reversed rims...sucks, but I'm pretty sure my rig won't ever be runnin' beadlocks--I'm not that hardcore.

As to runnin' spacers, I am officially against them now...On my way to my buddies house to remove said spacers that I have just sold, I was gettin' some new vibes from the rear and the brakes would lock up funny when I braked. Turns out, one of the spacers on my rear axle came loose. I sheared two wheel studs and reamed a third one. Luckily, the wheel didn't just fly off somewhere's... Anyway, I'm positive it was just that the mixture of me putting said spacers and wheels back on after an all nighter of switching in my new full float rear end and my puny little arms not crankin' 'em down tight enough--but sure is scary either way...

well, rarely does the inside bead come off so it wouldn't really do you much good to put them on the inside...this is also why very few competitors run double locks...I *think* Paule used to but I dont know if he even does anymore...

They didn't come off because they weren't a reverse shell. And it takes almost double force to break the bead on the inside. With the custom BS wheels they do a reverse shell and the safety bead is on the outside rather than the inside

explain why its not common for a beadlocked 16.5 to loose an inner bead? no safety bead there...there just isn;t the force on the inside that there is on the outside...thats why its a waste to do them on the inner bead...

I understood all rims have one side with a safety bead. Maybe I am wrong. But all the rims I have mounted which doesn't include any 16.5's so maybe they don't. But I know on mine the force will have to be double on the outside because of the reversed shell. So it does have the safety bead on the outside.

most 16.5s dont have a safety bead...some stock ones do but I dont know of any aftermarket ones that do...

My bad. well, I have only had problems running 33's on a 10" wide rim and breaking an outer bead. Now with my rim reversed I don't think I will have problems. Later

What is everyone doing as far as finish on these custom BS wheels? I've heard of having 'em powdercoated or just painting them...what's the best way to go? Does anyone sell a finished 2" BS 15x12?

you got it, powder coat or paint...I am just painting them cause its cheaper and when they get scratched they are real easy to touch back up...most shops you buy them from that have them finished its just going to be painted anyways...and the price difference it quite a bit...for example the rims I ordered painted were $80 unpainted they were $46....

Ditto. My current wheels (soon to be old wheels) were the white spoke ones from discount or somewhere. I hated the white so I painted them black. Probably shoulda primered them or steel-wooled them or treated them somehow cause power washers sometimes spray the paint right off...regardless I just shoot them with some paint when i need to. works great.

Dayum 12" wide how wide are your tires? 12's are hard to mount.
