wow, those rockers are high! Mine are 26" too, and they're not going to hit. Give it a try, think of the bragging right you'll have when you make it through in a big fullsize!

Okay, the only trail I'm familiar with around here is Ward-Canyon. I went from the parking lot, left and all the way up -- although I did go left at the pathfinder, With a fair percentage of the pathfinder in the back -- with pretty much no trouble. I didn't use any of the easy routes... Anyone familiar with that area care to compare them? I'd like to go but if I'm going to end up hopelessly "stuck" (And by stuck I mean choice between moving or massive body damage) or on some bypass I might just go back up to Ward Canyon.

There are plenty of cool trails up AF Canyon that you'll be fine on (people take mini vans on a lot of them) Forest Lake and the end of Mineral Basin are the only ones you aren't set up to do without damage.

Come up, help with the fence work (meeting at the Tibble Fork parking lot at noon on Saturday) and I'll point you at a lot of cool trails. The fence that needs work is a short walk up the Forest Lake trail, but I'm sure you can ride that far with someone..... You'll see the worst spot on the way in and you can make your own call.

Hey Psd

I was thinking of running my expedition on this trail... I have 12,000 lb winch on it to help if needed but then I looked at my ground clearance and my running boards are only 20 in... which brings up a question... do you have a lift on your truck to get the 26 inches? and what size tires are you running?

I took my expedition down rose garden hill in moab anyone know how this trail compares to that?

yes, i have a big lift for a sami. I think stock clearance was about 10". I run 33's with a locker in the rear, but this trail is doable in 2wd if you have clearance. Like other said, you'll be able to tell right off the bat if you're capable or not. If not, then there's tons of cool trails close by that you can hop on. If they said a stock liberty got through, I don't see yours being much less capable. The thing about this trail is it's narrow, and has boulders about the size of a beach ball in the trail. It's not crazy, but rocks come close to rockers. We'll see what the others say.

Mine is stock but the F350 4x4 is considerably taller than the F250 4x4. I actually got in a shouting match with the safety inspector not too long ago over Mud-flaps, but the truck is stock with the stock tires size (Works out to a 32) and I'm not putting flaps on a showroom stock truck. But yes, it came with about 26" (Maybe it's closer to 25" I dont recall - I meant to take a tape to it last night but didn't) at the rockers out of the box.

i just hope it's still in showroom condition after the trail :D I think that's a ton of clearance. You could probably do it. I'd love to see you try. You can always turn around if it gets too hairy. we'd love to have you come along.

if that pic above with the black toyota fj doesn't scare you then you're fine. I don't remember forrest lake getting any harder than that.

Well... It does scare me a little - the big rock that is barely in the picture on the left would be a problem... And I don't know that I could climb it unaided but I think I could negotiate it without too much bent metal.

Although it's in show-room trim, It's hardly in show-room condition. Nature has taken its toll - Should be a good time. Anyone care to give some dirrections to the Lot from 15 I guess.

yeah, there's nothing as big as that rock in the pic you were talking about. I think you'll be ok with your high rocker clearance.

here's when and where we're meeting:
6:00 PM meet at the chevron at 4 corners by kohlers in highland.

If you're coming south, take the first I-15 exit after point of the mountain (by thanksgiving point). It should say "Highland/Alpine". Turn left at the light and go under the freeway and head east. Go about 5-8 miles (I can't remember). You'll pass a wendy's on your right, and the next light has a chevron on your left. that's where we'll be meeting. It's about 10 min from the freeway. It's $5 to get in, but if we help maintain the trail then it's free (i think). You may want to get there a little early so we can leave as close to 6 as possible. Fires are allowed (i asked the ranger today), as long as we have a pit, or use an existing one. We're planning on spending 30-40 min at the lake where we'll have s'mores and hot cocoa. it should be a really fun evening.

First off kris k and I go back to 03' We just have been low profile :p Second I got my 98 dodge up to the lake without problems. Just alittle tight width wises. But I havnt been up there since 04. Looks like I'm wiring up my rock lights for this trip.

If anyone wants to run con saturday morninish let me know. I want to hit the nest if it is dry.

Forest Lake has gotten worse in the last two seasons due to runoff carving out the trail. Also, it'll be nice and muddy on Saturday.

Well since the Samurai's at my parents in Nephi it's not very easy to get to. Also I have no lights so i'd have to be back to tibble fork by dark.
