Check out some of the options HERE. Their stuff has been mentioned here before, but we recently started carrying their products, and they're pretty nice. A nice tube fender, available with an additional tube "flare" that I don't believe is shown there. Rear tube flares also. I don't really care for their "XO bars", but they're a removable option if you like them.

The problem I have with the rear corners is with the mods I've made, I need custom corners. I kept the front of opening where it is but opened up the back by 2". I have very little overhang out the rear now which is nice.

Any chance of getting a pic of the front fenders with that flare? Is the flare removeable by any chance? I like the look of their stuff.

Put a 6" long arm lift on it, selectable lockers (sounds like you do) rock sliders, flexable wheel flares, tough bumpers, 35's and removable mud flaps (keeps it passing inspections). And then have fun. The sliders will help with the side damage, wheel flares flex and can easily be replaced and just don't roll it:D

Sooo, a smaller, less built version of what he has now? ;)

Bart, if you're anything like me you'll never get over the desire to do the hard line. It's in your blood. The answer is 2 rigs, but if 2 rigs isn't an option then you have to give up a straight body or hard trails.

I gave up hard trails for 2 years now and I'm about ready to freak. I'm hoping to begin the part acquiring process in the next few months.

I'll see what I can come up with. It wouldn't be removable, I was told it's the same tube fenders you see on the site, with an additional tube welded on the outside of that, bending down to follow the profile of the rear section of wheelwell also. (did that make sense?) Supposed to match the contours of the rear tube flares pretty well.

How much fun can you have when you are worried about body damage. One of the best things about wheelin a buggy etc is the I don't care attitude. :D But if you want to wheel more weenie trails so be it, more for me:p

I don't know how you've done it, good luck on the acquiring process. BTW, you crack me up.

Please let me know if you find a pic. That's a possibility.

Hmm, really? I'll have to remember that.

I saw the same thing I did on a similar thread about a year ago.

Buy a dumpy tow rig for $5k, a commuter car for $2k and run a buggy you don't have to worry about. Your $$$ ahead in the long run.

All of that being said I still want a second rig I can do HITR in. :busted:

NEWB here, and I feel your delima. This monday I went out with ROTBOX and MY RIDE SUX and I took my Daily Driver thru snakes, and half way thru constrictor. I had to do the Bypass at Waynes World but I had a great time and only mangled my rear bumper. This was my Runners virgin run since I have had it. It felt good to take my D/D that far and it was a lot of tire placements and rolling thru things I would have rather approached a little slower. Fact is I made it thru and had only damaged the factory rear bumper I had intentions to replace anyways.

To be honest, I wont take my clean Daily Driver thru that again because its too clean. I am getting a second vehicle that I can cut up/modify and not care about.

Also If you need a place to "hide" this second vehicle I am sure one of your buddies could arrange that, or if your in or near Utah County, I have plenty of room at the yard.

I run two rigs, now they both have body damage, oh well, its much more fun when your not always stressing about a few dents...I say give up...body damage tells a story about your rig and where its been, I think smashed up rigs are cool looking but then im sorta warped.

Beat it. Just beat it. :D Take the dents like a man now because you know it will be well clearanced by this time next year anyway... why put a damper on the fun now?

Here is my two cents, you mention you can only have one vehicle. If you can trailer a rig then build the buggie, if not then you are going to have use a street legal rig. Put a 6" long arm lift on it, selectable lockers (sounds like you do) rock sliders, flexable wheel flares, tough bumpers, 35's and removable mud flaps (keeps it passing inspections). And then have fun. The sliders will help with the side damage, wheel flares flex and can easily be replaced and just don't roll it:D That is the best you can do and keep your rig clean. This is what I have done. If you must do trails like Upper Helldorado then learn to do body repair and paint or know someone who does.
Bart was rolling a comp buggy not too long ago ;)

hmmm seems like some one advised you against that.... Just an FYI, you took the bypass at the start of Con if you made it up the trail at all.

Streetable with 40s is not possible in Utah.

I hear you! Thats why I keep my Jeep registered in Texas

Bart, I tried to keep mine straight for a couple of months but, that wasn't happening:rofl: Armor it up as much as possible and wheel what you want. The looks you get from people in traffic are priceless. Jenn's jeep is a different story, it wil not get trashed.

I agree with Cody. I used to wheel a ZJ on 35s and it sucked. Once I got my wrangler, I just accepted that I was going to have body damage considering the way I wheel.

I walked out to the garage the other day and thought, damn this thing looks like hell

You may joke, but check out what I learned existed just a few days ago: Who knew?

WSG-2001_md.jpg

Man, I'm not joking:(

I wished I would have installed them beforehand. Now, there's nothing to attach them to. Oddly enough, the windshield and other damage was not a result of any rolls.

I've already bumped mine a couple of times, and we all know how much my rig gets out of the garage.

I totally believe it. I always get way more damage trying to scrape by things rather than just simply tossing it on it's head. I've bent A-pillar tubes on both my buggies trying to muscle my way past a pesky rock, nowhere near rolling.

How much?

They're listed at $129 per pair, either unpainted or powdercoated.

Sorry for the hijack, Bart! :D
