Where to buy a windshield?

I need to buy a new windshield for my TJ. I only have liability coverage on it, so insurance is not an option. I'm a cheap bastard, so I need to know where the cheapest place to get one is. I'm sure there are a few folks on here that have replaced TJ windshields so, where'd you get it, and how much did it cost ya?

Though it's not a TJ, I always found that Safelite had the cheapest prices for my XJ. Never know, could be the same for your TJ.

I doubt they would have anything for a wrangler (of any year)


I have always used Techna-Glass on 90th south and Sandy Parkway, always had good service there, but I have always had full coverage so its always been free :D

last one I got for the YJ was $127.45 that was install, tax, etc.

I bought mine from the same Techna-Glass. 125 +tax, etc. They also cover rockchips for life...One of my x-students worked there, so I don't know if that was a discount, but my calling around seemed to match +/- 15.00...just a thought

I am in the same boat with the insurance thing and had Diamond Glass come out and replace both the YJ and VX winshields at the house. I called around and they had the best price on both. They will do it anywhere so you don't have to take it to them for the same price.

It is NOT D.O.T. approved, but I have NEVER had anyone look for an approval on my windshield. All they look for is cracks.

got mine done there when i rolled :D cost me 160ish maybe 190ish no more than two bills :greg:

Call James at Safelite in Ogden and tell him I sent you!

He is the ONLY person I use. When I was with the dealer ship and handled Glass replacement, he always gave me the best bids!

isn't d.o.t.glass to help slow or stop objects from entering :confused:
