i would really like to run the rockers in a 39.5 but they are just too wide, i am keeping my jeep street legal and a 16.5 wide tire would be tricky. Any advice haha???

I would definitely run the 3rd choice then. Radials will be your best friend if you plan on streeting it.

yeah thats what i figure it eventually wont be my dd it will just be something i can cruise around in when i feel i just want to keep it legal for that reason

I havent seen any of the Radial Pitbulls yet but I can tell you the bias 37 are a pretty average 37. They arent that tall. (this coming from a guy with 47s tho)

I love the Rockers. I miss my 44s really bad. The Growlers are a good tire but the Rockers were just rediculas.

You say you want to run a 39.5 Rocker........Can you make room for a 42? The 42 is a LOT skinnier than the 39.5.

I can also tell you that the 42s really arent that bad on the street. They do flat spot if the rig sits for a couple days but they go away within 100 yards. They are noisey but not as bad as you would expect. They also wear fairly decent to. I have driven my buddies truggy with the 42s and felt more than comfortable at 65 mph. I have also seen the 44s go 75 on the freeway!! So I guess what Im saying is dont let the bias ply scare you.

Im not a big fan of the Maddogs. I know a few people who have ran them and liked them. No big reason, just personal preference I guess. I guess when you can get a Rocker, why get anything else?

I think you will be happy with whatever choice you make tho. I love Pitbull tires and wont be running anything else ever again. (unless of course I was paid to)

Also.....

You should hit up Casper Customs for a price on them. If you give him the prices you are getting on 4x4 Group Buy he should be able to beat them! He is also a vendor on RME so you should support him. His shop is in Idaho but he can have the tires shipped right to your door. 2 of the 3 employees are at KOH but the 3rd should be there today. If not they all will be there Monday. The shop number is 208-745-0283

Seriously tho.....consider the 42s. You would not regret it at all!

im not scared of a bias tire i was just looking at the radial cuz they are a lot narrower i actually was debating a 42 and that might be what i have to do so we will just have to see when the time comes

Just for another reference. My buddy had the 42" Rockers on his truggy. Sold them for a set of 44" Rockers. He is now selling the 44s to go back to the 42s. He felt like the 42s worked better since they are skinnier. He also didnt break anything with 42s and seems to break every trip with the 44s.....hmmmmmmmm

I can say if you have even considered 42s you better not even waste your time with 37s. You wont be happy

Most of the people that I have spoken to, say the bias rocker 37s are like blind dates, they show up shorter and fatter than what you expected:eek: They also say if you can make them fit, they are fairly sticky and virtually indestructible. I tired to get an ETA from pitbull on the 41.5s, and they called no joy. Have you considered the Maxxis or Goodyear 38"?

These can be had for a modest price and seem to work well in slickrock ETC

44s are to small for my rig now that I put Rockwells under it. I actually built it to clear 49s but the 47s look decent.

Rumor is in a year or 2 they are going to make the Rocker in a 52"!!!

When they do, I will buy a set.

Im considering building something smaller to have in addition to the Scout. If I do, it will be on tons and 42" Rockers

i was actually looking at those the other day they seem to be pretty good and are really cheap. I honestly cant decide what i want to run as of now i think ill just wear my 37's out and then go from there when i go to a 42 i think ill do a highline kit and stuff to keep it low

Are you gonna street it, or tow it?

Sorry for the hi jack but it kind of sounds like this thread might be done anyway.

Honestly I dont know yet. Kind of depends on what I decide to do. I picked up a 99 Durango for 1500 with the 5.9. Im considering doing a SAS on it and if I do it will stay streetable and only get 39.5s.

I would like to get something like an old Ranger. Something that is just garbage so I can throw axles, tires, and a cage at it and just go bounce it off rocks. If I do that, I will just tow it because who knows how long it will last.

These are just ideas kicking in my head anyway.
