Which REAL HID kit to get?

My question is this. How do the LED lights work in a driving snow storm? Do they put off enough heat to melt the ice?

While that would depend greatly on the design of the system, LED's still put out MUCH more heat than light. My 100 watt led pictured above probably turns 90 of those watts into heat and only 10 into light. The luminous efficiency of halogen headlights is more like 3-4%, with the newest, most efficient LEDs around 25%.
The heat produced by an LED is channeled into the semiconductor substrate which is coupled to a heatsink (usually in the back), where as the heat in a halogen bulb is of course radiating out in all directions, same as the light.

Still highly illegal and unsafe.

Im pretty sure we all know that if our vehicle origionally had halogen bulbs and your upgrading to h.i.d.s, its going to be illegal.

As for the way they retrofit h.i.d.'s being unsafe, I'd have to disagree, if you send them a pair of head light housing to get retrofitted, the light patterns will be much safer than throwing hid bulbs in say.... trooper headlight housings. And is one of the more "safer" ways to upgrade to hid's.....
