which winch for a guy who doesn't like winches?

I think most car audio shops have that huge power cable . That may not be the most economical place to get it.

I had to order some parts, and they finally showed up!
I found a set of 25' jumper cables on ebay for $40. They were 2 gauge. They were quite a bit cheaper than buying wire, and they already had clamps, and would be a connected wire, instead of 2 separate wires, So I went for it. To my dismay, they came as separate wires anyway.. but life goes on.
I also ordered a 175 amp Anderson Connector.
I bolted the anderson connector to the winch mount for a firm location to push/pull against.




Future plans include an additional anderson connector near the alligator clamps, and a hard wired connector to the jeep and my truck. allowing the clamps to be removed and the cable hooked to the jeep/truck. This way I will not have to have my hood up to connect, yet it will still be usable on any other vehicle.

Not sure about the Smittybuilt, but my Warn M8000 draws 435 amps for a full 8K pull....
Might want to re-think the 175 amp connectors

Hmmm.
This is the connector that is sold in the winch connector packages at the retail stores..
I guess we'll see how it goes.
