IMHO, under the right (or wrong) circumstances any part has a potential to fail. Yes, I've seen a couple break, but I've loved the 5 Atlas's I've owned and have never had a problem

Seems like he was romping on some nasty climb when a suspension part came loose and that contributed to the carnage.

But Carl in known to not play well with his toys. :D
LOL, he's a perfect example of finding the limits. And I agree, the tcase should get a pass when he jammed it up at Miller. The one in Moab was a little different though. It seems his Atlas always worked great but now he's running steeper gears, and doubled or tripled his horsepower to stay in the game. I think the limits of the Atlas are coming to light, just like a built Dana 60 used to be hailed as the end all. They're fantastic for most of us but maybe not for the next step in the evolution.

The nut on the output came loose on mine a couple years ago. I blame a pretty out of balance front driveshaft. Tightened it up and good to go! Bearings all looked good.
I hope that's all mine is too.

Advanced has treated me very well with every product that I have purchased from them. Anything can be broken.
I would recommend a atlas 2 or 4 speed to anyone looking for a top of the line transfer case.

Hi Carl! :D. I was wondering when you were going to chime in.

its pretty cool when the two guys who have actually had problems with their Atlas have the most positive things to say about the company.
