Who Welds Aluminum in Salt Lake?

I need some tabs welded to a radiator. I don't care if it's mig or tig, but it needs to be professional quality.

I need mounting tabs welded on, then a bung for an npt nipple, and finally i need the lower radiator hose port welded back on. I cut it off so it could be tuned a bit.

maybe try a radiator shop? That's where I've gone in the past. They're set up to weld alum, and they know their stuff. I don't know of any good ones in the SLC area, but there's a great one down in AF.

There is another great guy in SLC that fixed some aluminum rack feet on my Tacoma but I can't remember his name? Bryson referred me to him.

I usually go with Larkharts on 1300 s. But they can be a bit hard to get a hold of sometimes. I was just curious to see if anyone on the board welds for side jobs really.

We (old Cruiser Outfitters location in SLC) used to have the Lockhart guys do different aluminum projects, amazing work but they were often backed up with a busy shop. Wouldn't hesitate to have them do something again all things considered.

Yeah, most of the time I can go in there and say, "Hey Mark, can you do this for me real fast" and he'll stop what he's doing and get it done while I wait.

Well there may be some truth to that. I took my stuff to Mark after work today and he jumped on it. Welded in my tabs for both sides of the radiator to mount the shroud to and to mount the radiator to the grill, welded my lower hose outlet back on, in the rotation I needed it to be, after shortening it, then he turned out some rod to make a bung for a steam port and welded it in place. The work was perfect and the company was great while I watched him do the work.
It has been a while since I needed to use him and I couldn't remember his prices, so I took $200 with me, just in case. I left only $40 lighter then when I came in, and that included a nice tip. I'm very happy with the work.

If you have never been in Lockhart's shop on 1300 s and Main before you should stick your head in there. Mark does mostly classic car build ups, but lately he as been building a super cool stream liner powered by two snow machine engines. Plus his pile of old school metal working tools is pretty neat.
