Let me elaborate.
This pic was taken by the UHP. pulled over for, No mud flaps, & fender flares not covering tires.
My ***** is they just passed inspection and told the UHP what shop passed them.
So the UHP officer ( Doing his job) went to said shop & yanked the emploees licence for doing this person a favor.
So when I went in for inspection, guess what?
The moral is,,,,,,, I think, don't screw a person over for helping you out.

On the bright side, I'm almost legal. :ugh:

Umm, it's not like the UHP officer couldn't have found out on his own where the guy had his Jeep inspected. Not the guys fault for saying where he had it done.

True, but the jeeper could have told the UHP it was passed with street tires, and that he just put the bigger tires on for wheelin or something. This would at least cover the dude that helped him pass his jeep.

Well this isn't new atleast to me i guess but i'm kind of on the inside. Everytime we pull a truck over and theres a ton of things wrong we tell the driver about the problems, and the first thing that comes out of there mouth is i just got it inspected. So we get the inspection form from them write down the company that did the inspection, inspecters name, and hand if over to the saftey inspection part of the UHP. I personaly think it's a great thing there doing.

I really don't get this mentality??? You skirt the law, get caught, and either blame someone else or ***** about it.

Either shut up and take your medicine. Or obey the damn law! If you don't like the laws.... MOVE, or work to change them.

I am glad they have a safety inspection, when I lived in Cali, you wouldn't believe some of the **** rolling on the freeway at 65 + MPH. I am also glad the UHP enforces the law. Weeds out some of the stupid.

Hey thanks I'em.:)

I'm just saying that no matter how petty or intrusive a law that gets handed down by our idiot legislature in the current developing martial law nanny state, that I'm thankful that there are the fine men in tan who will be there inforcing it. Let me know when you start collecting the guns and I'll just send mine in.

So let me ask you something, Lets say your drivng down I-15 some random guy passes you he has a rig thats lifted with no mud flaps no fender flars. Down the road some dump truck loses some rock from it's load. The guy in the lifted rig hits the rocks and catches one, and wings it back at your windshield cracking it.

Are you going to just say o'well thats ok, or are you going to be pissed. It's no falt to the guy in the rig that the dump truck lost it's rock but it is his falt that he could have prevented the rock from hitting your windshield buy putting mud flaps or flars on.

I would be more "pissed" that you are prosecuting the guy who will flips the rock rather than the POS truck that dropped it. Who do you give more tickets to? Also, are you saying that stock autos do not flip rocks? Maybe we should gwet everyone off the road. I don't hate the UHP. I'm thankful for most everything you do.

Just so you know i'm not a Trooper.

Also just so you know I give more tickets to big rigs.

Did i say (prosecute the guy with the rig) I was just saying would you be pissed he didn't have mud flaps on?

Of course the guy that lost his load would be the one that got the ticket. the guy in the rig would get nothing.

Just for some info, I had a Nissan Stanza flip a rock up and hit my windshield... and it was LOWERED! If you were to see my Jeep you'd know that it had to have been flipped up there really high to hit my windshield :).

I think it's descrimination.

I have had more cars/trucks/big rigs/MINIVANS flip rocks up and strike my windshield than I have had lifted trucks flip rocks up. I do obey the laws and I have fender flares and mudflaps on but I think there must be something behind pulling over lifted vehicles. Someone has a chip on thier shoulder or something.

True any car can flip a rock but a lifted rig is more likley.

I guess what i'm trying to say is I think it's good that the UHP is trying to keep the inspection stations in check. I think they should go after the guy or station that passed it if he passed it with out mud flaps or flars.

To me Mud flaps are kind of a miner thing but, what else are they letting slide?

I am willing to accept the risk of having a chipped windshield if it is the price to pay for more liberty and less government intrusion in my life. If you get pulled over for a mudflap violation, put the responsibility on yourself and not the shop that passed it.

True it was kind of dumb of the guy to give out the name.

The only time they really look at the inspection is when the driver says i just had it inpsected. So it just looks like the shop just let it slide. But if the station did it the way they where suppost to be done it then theres no problem. The problem could have happend from the time the station did the inspection to the time they got stopped, who knows. I personaly had one where all the tail light, and one head light where out plus the steering box was held on with one bolt. The guy had the inspection paper saying i just got it inspected this morning and sure enough it was.

I know the UHP are cracking down on this stuff, there hitting inspection stations HARD.
