That Jeep should never have been pulled over. It is so mild it is not even funny. If that kind of junk is being cited then everyone on this site should be worried. What is next? The UHP is becoming more and more hostile to 4X4 enthusiasts. The ***** coward pulling the I just got it inspected thing is the worst. Someone ought to kick his ass.

The inspection station that passed the Jeep took it upon themselves to skirt the law, for whatever reason, to help a guy out maybe, new guy doing the inspection, whatever. They are responsible for that action or the actions of it's employees and therefore bear the burden of breaking the law.
But I agree wholeheartedly with most about the Jeep driver. Any knob that tries to use the "I just got inspected" crap needs his ass kicked.

Either shut up and take your medicine. Or obey the damn law! If you don't like the laws.... MOVE, or work to change them.

You check steering box bolts when you pull someone over. That's awsome, I usually don't check mine untill after they break.:ugh:

I'm a Port of Entry agent. I check all the commercial vehicals over 10,000 LBS. Twice a month sometime three times a month i go with the UHP UTIP troopers and work in Utah county mostly around the crossroads, and SR92. On a joint weight an oversize enforcement blitz. We perform saftey inspections at the time of the stop if it looks neseccery ( if the truck looks like crap).

Some of the Troopers i work with are over the saftey inspection stations. I also have a Bro thats a SGT over a couple of these guy's in SLC.

Questioning authority is actually about as American an activity that there is. I understand that most of us Utahns have a hard time coping with that, but thank you, I think I'll stick around and *****.

If this was simply questioning authority then hell yes, be a rebel. But no this is simply whining and moaning about something that isnt even a big deal.

And you can prove without a doubt that a lifted vehicle without mudflaps broke every single windshield?

Where's my BS Flag?

So let me ask you something, Lets say your drivng down I-15 some random guy passes you he has a rig thats lifted with no mud flaps no fender flars. Down the road some dump truck loses some rock from it's load. The guy in the lifted rig hits the rocks and catches one, and wings it back at your windshield cracking it.

Are you going to just say o'well thats ok, or are you going to be pissed. It's no falt to the guy in the rig that the dump truck lost it's rock but it is his falt that he could have prevented the rock from hitting your windshield buy putting mud flaps or flars on.
Ahem, actually, this happens a lot in Idaho and Montana during the winter months where they sand the roads. It is my experience that midsize cars and econo cars throw WAY more up into my windshield than any other vehicles, lifted or otherwise. The open tread designs of light trucks and SUVs don't seem to propell the sand/rocks as high or as far.

I don't see where he claimed that.

From what I've seen, most (but not all) broken windows are attached to tail gating cars.

I would have to agree! If you follow to close it doesnt matter what you are following it can flip a rock or two. Must admit, my tires sticking out bother me as much as anyone following me. I hate having a dirty jeep that is caused by nothing more than my own tires. But you gotta love the look!

I've got a solution to the tailgating problem....I can' only drive 65 at the most, and I'm stuck in the slow lane....most people make an effort to get around me quickly....but then again I have big mud flaps, that take no more than a minute to remove once I get to the trail..and a broken motor.
