Why does my heater suck?

The same spot that I look for all the time, but there's no trace of coolant. I can smell it, but there's not a single leak.






On a side note, do you remember the part numbers on the tie rod ends you used for my tie rod? :greg:

Sometimes the blend door gets stuck also and I've also seen bad head units to where they can malfunction a blend door. 2 cents

I have the same trouble with my old cj7 and I think this is the problem with mine... cause the vent on the passenger side allows really cold air to flow into the cab... I had to tape it off with some good old hundred mile and hour tape (duct tape).... going to have to have to take the whole thing apart soon....

Mine does something really weird. The engine will heat up to normal (~210), then I'll flip on the heater and it'll blow warm arm for maybe 15 seconds. Then you can watch the temp drop maybe 30 degrees, then no more heat! If I turn the heater off, the engine warms back up to normal. Anyone had that problem or think of what it might be?

Ok so I replaced the thermostat on mine, That fixed it for 2 days now I am running around 210 and its not hot air anymore. :-\ Also shouldn't my heater hoses be pretty damn hot? They are not.

did you buy the failsafe t-stat they seem to try to sell everyone, seems like they fail 2/3 of the time.
