Because the big 3 would be out of business if foreign auto-makers were allowed to import their entire lineups. Look how bad they are hurting now with 1/2 of the imports allowed, those being heavily taxed.

That being said you could likely get that vehicle into the US, plan on spending an additional $20 though

I'd want an HZJ105, basically a US 100 Series with a solid axle and a turbo diesel

Funny thing is the angst goes both ways. the FJ Cruiser is a US (NA) market vehicle only, as is the Tacoma. They want those. Toyota does sell the Hi-Lux all over the world with a turbo diesel. The FJ Cruiser likely didn't make it to other markets as it is a light duty vehicle compared to their LC offerings in places such as the middle east and aussie. We call them "poverty package" models but they literally make 100 series Land Cruisers with cloth seats, no carpet and OE snorkels... made to get used, versus the heated leather seat versions here in the US. We get what sells... simple as that.
