Soooo I now have a new job starting monday and new insurance with IHC. Wednesday night I had to call the 911 for the "A" ticket ride for Angie to LDS hospital. She spiked a 103.3 fever , plus had difficulty breathing. In less than a week the docs there have figured out several things that were wrong with her. In the next few days she gets a new dialysis line and recontructive surgery to her trach. I suspect that having to be trach for 62+ days has something to do with it. No worries as she is making improvements there. Extra bonus is that the speech/occupational and physical therapists are pulling to get Angie into the Accute Rehab Unit. This is a huge step up for Angie. 2-3 weeks there and then home. We will be bugging them for a kidney transplant also.

Wow! At least theres some good news with the bad.

Hope she does well.

My MIL had her transplant about three months ago, and some good news with some bad.
We also had a scare when we showed up last sunday and she did'nt anser the door. I freaked out and the door became open  and she was down in diabetic shock. This sucks so I can almost relate.

All our hearts are with you guys.

I read the post three times and I'm still confused...

Does this mean the IHC people figure out what is wrong with your wife? You know, like the other doctors haven't been able to, for what, ~2 years? Or is all of this goings on right now have to do with this solo incident? ...And has she 'always' needed the kidney transplant, or is that new? Or is that why she was in the hospital in the first place before she had her stroke?

I try to keep up, but it's hard to remember all of the details/timelines with ~2 years of updates.

I thought they couldn't do them because of no money and too sick/weak to recover?

JOE!?!?!!!?

Joe is in the ICU with Angie tonight. With the new insurance Angie should be covered for transplant.

In the past she has been too weak for a transplant. But in the last few months she has started talking more, feeding herself, and walking with help.

She has had two transplants in the past. My youngest brother in a match for kidney. So we are waiting for the right insurance and strength level to match up for transplant.

Angie has had 2 kidney transplants already. Plus the 2 strokes in 2006. She needs a 3rd kidney transplant, donor is my brother.Angie has needed a new kidney for almost 3 years now. IHC docs have figured out Angies swallowing/ quiet speech problem. Now they can fix her so she can yell at me again. The U hadn't even considered scoping her throat like the LDS IHC docs did. We kind of got a 30 day notice from the U to get lost.-_-

That's just great news!!! Sometimes it just takes a different perspective and skill set to try new things. Regardless what it is, glad to see it's all coming together!!

...Sometimes getting yelled at isn't so bad, right? ;)

He really did...smacked us both in the head with a file folder. Bryson first, which I snickered at--then he came over to me, I didn't know it was to be a double-shot. -_-

Bart, I now owe YOU one. ;)
