Winch advice

Ok, so i got a winch for x-mas what do i need to know about mounting/hooking up/anything else useful?

Did you have to do any modifications to get it to fit or was it a straight mount hole to hole?

well the way my bumper sits and the mount i have i had to rise the mount up a little bit with reciever tubing and bolted it to the front sway bar mount and the 2 tow hook mounts

Ya, so i tried to fit the mount on.... its not going to work. the wholes will line up on one side, but be off half a whole or more on the other side:-\ So does anyone know where i could find a winch plate that would fit my TJ and support the champion winch? pref for cheap, because im poor. I'd be willing to trade my mounting plate for one that would fit my jeep

well, nevermind, i ended up ordering one from harbor freight to fit the jeep, so if anyone is interested in a Universal winch mount, pm me

u could have just drilled the winch plate to fit.... thats what i did

i thought about it, but the way it was it would have been a mess... plus im not very steady with the drill lol
