Ok I have two XJ's I recently purchased 94 and 89 and both of them the front windshield wiper motors don't work. I assume this is a common problem, All fuses are good what should I check?? I was told that it could be the ground to the motor has anyone had this problem?

ive seen it a few like this last week they all ended up bing the ground strap try adding a jump wire that goes from the negitive post on the battery to the motor and see if that work and my next question is are you sure the wiper motors are still good

I don't know if the motors are good, I will jump the ground wire from the battery to the motor, do you recall what color the ground wire was?

Most of the ground wires are black and are tied to the engine block near the oil dipstick. There is also a braided strap that goes from the body to the motor which is usually near the back of the engine head. If you want to come by my house I have several wiper motors that you can come and try to see if yours are bad. I also have wiring diagrams for these jeeps.
