So I am getting mine out next Wednesday. Not, impacted or anything, pretty much grown in like normal teeth....
I know people that have been real wimps and ones that are ok after....I want to go to St. George for UROC on Thursday.
Those that have had it done, What do you think? Should I just stay home? Or should I go? (Mmmmmm Lortabs)

AND NO teeth jokes!!!! Dammit that was 4 years ago....let it GO!! :mad2: :D

I had mine pulled about 6 months ago. They were all the way in. I went to work the next day and think I took some ibuprofin but that was it. Cold things bothered me for a few days but nothing like the horror stories I've heard.

Go....just be sure to have something nutritious to DRINK!

But watch out for straws. I got dry socket, and that was worse than the surgery.

I had all mine out, but mine were all impacted. I was a real wimp, and stayed on the couch for a day. If yours aren't impacted then you shouldn't have much of a problem.

I have heard many horror stories of dry socket- that would be my main fear. All of mine were completely in and I worked the next day- a little ibuprofen was all I took.
I would go!

I had one impacted and one non impacted, under the surface. They knocked me out for it. I felt no pain except for a dull ache a few days later. The anisthetic (sp?) stays in your system for quite a while and that is what kept me from most activity. I just felt tired and loopy for 2 days.

Bring a chair to UROC. That would be my advice.

I had all 4 pulled at once, and was eating a burger 3 hours later. But then again, when my wife got heres out, she became physically ill, and couldnt eat anything but warm soup and milkshakes for a week and a half.

If they are going to knock you out I'd plan on staying prone for a day, if they are going to torture you awake then you might be able to stand up. As for the pain, all 4 of mine were abscessed and I had them all out at once.... They sent me home with perconeofthem, I didn't take any of them.

Mine were impacted and I was down with Perkodans for a couple of days. Do watch out for the dreaded dry sockets. No beer through a straw. We'll see you in St George.

Sounds like I should be good to go....
They are going to try to knock me out....Not easy to do. When I had my chest tube they gave me a large dose of Versed, but I remained conscious through the whole thing and made fun of the Dr. His name was Francis and his diploma on the wall said Doc of Medical Examination. So I had a guy that should be working on dead people, putting my chest tube in.... :D
I had fun :greg:

Never had mine out, but all my friends have and my dad's a dentist, so I'm pretty sure I've seen the full spectrum.... my best friend even experienced the dreaded "dry socket".... yuck! But then again I consider myself to be on the tougher side when it comes to pain, even went to work the day after knee surgery! ... don't really remember why they ended up sending me home... ;) :D
I'm just surprised noone has mentioned how fun things that move are when you're all doped up like that! ;) As I remember, if you're extremely prone to motion sickness, don't try watching the road when you're on percocet! :D

I hated having mine out. Mine were infected and the dentist suggested that I wait until the infection goes away before I get them pulled. I went to the oral surgeon and he suggested taking them out as soon as possible so I went in the next day and had them removed. It was the worst hell I have ever been through. My jaw constantly salivated, the stitches itched from the infection, and I couldn't eat anything but jello. I was down for 3 days in bed. It hurt to talk, walk, and hurt to move my jaw. It sucked. Then I got an ear infection from the infection in my jaw.... :(
