WJ budget boost

Looking into a 2" poly spacer lift for my grand cherokee. Any recommendations? Right now I am looking at the Rusty's kit and the rough country kit - biggest difference is the shocks. Anyone have any experience with rusty's or rough country (Heckethorn 8000) shocks? I've never tried either.

Have you looked at the Rubicon Express kit? I have no idea who makes the Heckethorn shock, but Edelbrock makes RE's. RE's kit is $349, and includes shocks, bumpstops, and etc. I know for sure you will like the ride RE's shocks provide - even better than stock!! PM me and I can make this kit even more affordable.

I had the tera flex BB on my ZJ and it worked just fine.

never tried Rusty's shocks, but I do have a little input on your WJ lift.
You will probably get a little death wobble, or some other steering wirdness.
I put a budget boost on a WJ that ended up with DW, fixed it with offset balljoints. Josh @ LH Miller Jeep parts can hook you up. Worked great to fix the problems that we had. You might be fine, but if you get weirdness, call Josh.

...Sounds to me like you had other problems, not stemming from the budget boost... Maybe a bent housing/knuckle???

The explaination that I got was since it was still on the stock arms, the castor had changed enough that it was causing problems. Aparetly this is fairly wide spread in WJs, enough that someone released an offset baljoint for them.
This wasn't my jeep, but a freinds, and the balljoints fixed the problems with no additional changes. Given the fact that not all WJs do this, it does seem that there may be some other factors at work, but this fixed our crap.

Ok yeah, I could see that, but it just says that the castor was so close in the beginning to being off, the 2" lift put it over the line. More of DC's tight tolerances and superb quality control... I can put a 4" lift on 100 TJ's, and half will have driveline vibrations and half won't. Same thing...

The offset ball joint was made for solid axles as a way to adjust castor or camber, or even both - just as they used them for!

Bottom line, it fixed your junk - that's the priority/goal, right?
