People make jokes to deal with situations all the time, who are you to even begin to tell people how to deal with situations. If I felt sad over everything that happens in this world, I would have to hurl myself off a building. Do you sit at home and cry over all the lives lost in this world to cancer? or to the war?

its all good, its like me going to your grandmas house to plant a tree and saying "guess what this tree and your grandma has in common, they both will be in the ground soon!" but hey someone got their freaking head cut off and you hear "i bet they wasn't 'head' of the buss anymore" or "they will never get ahead' in life.... if you kid was tragically killed would you like it if someone went in and said stupid sh*t like that about them????

Then I'd have to thank you for planting a tree for my grandma...I think she'd really appreciate that.

One of my very wise friends gave me some words I live by: Its not rude if its funny.

My grandma died. She kicked the bucket. Nothing I could do about it, but I'm sure she'd rather I was laughing at her expense than being somber about it.


I work with an old dude who was Special Forces in Vietnam. He tells us gory stories about all the people he killed and he just starts laughing. Hes not cold blooded, its just the way he deals with something that is incredibly emotionally painful.
