You dont' remember pulling the ebrake while I was driving? hahahah That was a good time. I'm telling you, our show would KILL.

My memory eludes me, I've pulled some pretty wicked e-brake maneuvers. I'm guessing this was your rental car in Vegas?

This would be on our show:

So, can't you just show the DMV your new insurance card? You did get another insurance company before canceling your old one, right?

I think he cancelled his AAA, not his insurance.

I received a letter from the DMV 6-7 years ago telling me that my license had been suspended due to an excess of points. I hadn't received a ticket in 3-4 years, so I thought it pretty odd. I called the DMV and they could only say that my recent tickets in West Jordan and Ogden had put me over, but wouldn't tell me what the tickets were, the dates, etc etc and that I had to call the courts. I think they gave me citation numbers or something if I remember right....

I called both courts and naturally they wouldn't give me any specific information other than the date of the citation numbers that I had written down. As it turned out I had proof that I was out of state on the dates in question, so finally a manager at each of the courts started looking into things a little more. I guess somehow 3 different people had received tickets that somehow went on my record. The courts were able to figure out the mistake and get them off my record and were nice enough to notify the DMV........

So I call the DMV to explain what had happened and they were like "oh, ok. well we have received word from the courts that those tickets were made in error and we can reinstate your license. We just need you to come down for a reinstatement interview and pay the $100 (or whatever it was) fine to get your license reinstated". This was just about the only time in my life I've ever been angry or short with a "customer service" rep, but there was no way I was taking any more time out of my life to drive down to the DMV to interview and pay for reinstatement of a license that was suspended by accident. I finally got someone on the phone with a middling amount of common sense and they were able to take care of it for me.

All in all, it took about 3-4 hours of phone detective work and waiting on hold to get it taken care of.

Pretty much the same deal. I had insurance through AAA, who sent wrong information to the state, who generated the letter I got. All is well now, after 3hrs of my life wasted proving it.
