What t-case is it? 231? 242?

Is your front driveline installed? If you're running a 242 t-case and the front driveline is not installed, it'll act as if it's not in gear.

Hope this helps!

You're absolutely right. My bad!

And to think, I installed my SYE twice before I figured that one out.

Not quite right.....My front driveline is off and I am running the NP242, so that's not the problem

Damn, sorry to offend......took me a bit to reply to it since I wrote it out and then stepped away from the computer.

Check the linkage on both the transmission and the t-case. If the t-case linkage isn't proper, the lever will go all the way down but it won't fully go into 2wd or 4wd and it will feel like neutral.

Try manually shifting the t-case from underneath by disconnecting the linkage.

Can you refine your post a little more? I'm having a hard time distinguishing if you are having problems with your transmission or the t-case.

Even without the computer, the AW4 will shift manually... so I'm not sure that's your problem. Unless the torque converter is just not working properly...

Check the linkage on the transmission. Try shifting it from under the vehicle (wheels of the ground of course)
