XJ Lighting Problem

I am trying to get this XJ street legal and have encountered a lighting problem. Everytime the light switch is turned on, the fuse box trips the fuse for the running lights and the parking lights . I replaced the switch itself and a no go . Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it's grounding out somewhere and trying to draw too much power....you checked the wires running to the front lights? My last cherokee, the harness fell apart right by the left front lights and caused all sorts of issues.
