Has anybody ever seen an XJ with a removable HARDTOP?? I'm wondering if/how I could make one. could a runner top be workable with enough fabbing on the XJ?? I like the XJ topless look but in the winter i don't want to freeze my ninnies off. OR, does a soft top keep in enough heat??

well sure you could prolly get a runner top to work with enough glass work

I never noticed a difference in the efficiency of my hard top vs. my soft top on my wrangler. I actually prefered the soft top.

Yep, I'd go for a soft top if'n you're going to take the top off an XJ. There's a place in Farmington NM that makes custom tops. I'd bet they could make a killer one.

Hey man go over to NAXJA.ORG and see what you can find there, Ive seen a few with the "camel back" type where its just the cargo area cut free, never the whole top.

What about leaving the structure in place and skinning the roof itself and maybe using a snap in place soft top like a toneuo (sp) cover?
