I decided to follow Rondo's lead and get another Nissan on 1 Ton's

I just recently got the truck back from the shop and have been having fun putting it through it's shakeup period.

Here's a couple pics from the hills near my house....

Black-ZJ - The cage was built by Vic of Krawltek & welded by a friend.

Rondo - Thanks, we checked over your build thread when planning out the steering system.

Houndoc - The SAS conversion was done by Frost Inc in Washington, UT. PM me if you'd like contact info.

Here are some of the details thus far:

The front axle is a Ford D60 late ball joint model with customized high steer arms and brake setup by Frost Inc. Shafts are 35 spline w/ custom cut Dutchman long inner. Other shafts in front are stock Ford F350. The gearing is 5.13's with an ARB at the heart of the pumpkin. Protecting this investment is a massive steel diff cover fabed up by Ruff Stuff Specialties.

Rear axle is a Dana 70 also equipped w/ ARB & 5.13's. Rear shafts are 35 spline custom axles from Dutchman and are also protected by a Ruff Stuff bomb proof diff cover.

Both axles have been narrowed 6 ¼ inches to comply w/ local vehicle codes and remain street-able.

4 wheel disk brake setup w/ Caddy mid 70's calipers and parking brake w/ Chevy Master Cylinder.

Shocks are Rancho 9000XL in back w/ Rancho Pro coil overs in front. Shock adjustments are controlled from in cab via wireless controller.

Rear is leaf sprung w/ 63 in Chevy springs & All Pro Johnny Joint setup.

Tie rod and drag link ends are 1980 1 Ton Chevy.

Steering box has been moved forward 4 inches to make room for 37 inch tires.

Hey Richard,

We saw you up on Fault Line one night last week, but you headed out on the first bypass before we caught up with you (Suzuki Sidekick and red Jeep Jk)

Good to see you out on the tail, let's get together to check out our "new" rigs soon,

Gil

Hi Gil - Sorry I missed you folks, that was the first shakeup run after the vehicle left the shop.

Hi LT - There's supposed to be a spacer there. I'll be going through and smoothing out the rough spots now that all the heavy work is done.

You have the one Xterra out there I actually like. That thing is badass. How is the low range with the 5.13s and 37s and is the rest of the drivetrain stock?

Machrism - Sorry for the delayed response..... Been busy working to pay everything off.

I'm running the Calmini 4.1 transfer case gears so everything works well on the trail. The only problem I have now is in 2WD when I have to drive home from St George. Where I used to head up the mountain at speed now I'm lucky to get 50 w/ the pedal down. Front driveshaft has Tom Woods high angle U joint on t case side and rear drive shaft has been slightly modified as well.
