Yes. How easy it is depends on if the model of the W-56. The early W-56 A and B models used top shift transfer cases. Identify here - the top shift has one shift hole the forward shift has two:http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/transmission/transmission.htm
The G series tranny's were all forward shift.
So, if its a later W-56 you should be fine. If it's not, you need to buy a top shift kit from marlin crawler to convert your transfer case to top shift. I can't find the kit on their website, so just call them and ask about it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a G54 with a W56 t-case? Thanks!

Your asking if a T-case from a G54 will work behind a W56 Transmission right? Or is it Vise Versa?....

The later (93-95) W56's did in fact use a forward shift t-case, but the shift forks were quite a bit shorter thus not usable in a G series unit. Also Marlin stopped selling the conversion when Toyota discontinued the parts...

Inchworm gear released a conversion kit recently, but it is far more money than it's worth imo. The best thing to do is find a top shift in the first place or spend the time to modify your current case to a top shift.

Or if your trying to put the W56 T-case behind a G54 then it will work great if you cut a new hole in your floor as it will sit around 5 inches farther back... If you do have a top shift I'll trade you strait across for a forward shift :D :D
