Okay next week I am camping on the snake river doing some rafting and kayaking. I am cooking some ribs one night and chicken another and got wondering what is the best BBQ sauce. I have had Bone Suckin Sauce before and I loved it but I can't find it in any stores.
So if I can't find my favorite BSS what do you guys and gals prefer.

Hands down the best BBQ sauce anywhere is at On The Border mexican restaurants. They don't sell it anywhere, they make it fresh I think, so you have to order something that comes with it. I usually get a server there to slip me a container full to take home. That junk is off the hook.

I've never bought Famous Dave's sauce from the store, but I know at their restaurants it was pretty bueno.

Alot of people these days rave about Sweet Baby Rays, but that stuff is really not that great. Its more like syrupy ketchup.

Store bought, I have some Famous Dave's for use in grilling, but if you want great flavor, I have converted to Sweet Baby Ray's. Stubbs is good too,

Personally, my Grandpa's "Ken's Plum Crazy" Plum based BBQ Sauce is the best.

Just the opinions of a fat guy that loves to cook.

I used Stubb's beef marinade and it's awesome. I imagine their BBQ sauce is good too if that's what you're into.

Stubbs.... damn good BBQ sauce, my favorite for several years now. They have a couple different options and you can find Stubbs at most grocery stores.

I've had the privilege of eating at stubbs and seeing quite a few bands there. Great place and damn good meat. Not a big fan of their sauce. However, their coal is A1 and can be bought at Lowes.

Texans are pretty serious about BBQ and so far, Rudy's has been my favorite:D

Goat, I can only assume that some non-Texan has illegally gained access to your acount. It's ok, but there are so many others.

To answer the question of the OP, for stuff you can buy, Stubbs is probably the best BBQ sauce.

The absolute best comes from a place called Oklahoma Joe's in Kansas City (go figure). They used to sell their sauce through mail order, but now it is only available at the restaurant, which is inside a gas station.

As for BBQ shops in Texas, I have three recommendations.

1. The Legend: Marshal's BBQ in Dallas (actually located in Farmer's Branch and Carrollton)
2. A classic: Lawrence's BBQ in north Austin
3. The ultimate: Unnamed location at the corner of FM-39 and FM-977 in SE Texas. In the summer months a guy sets up a shack and sells BBQ on the roadside in front of his property. He has claimed that he raises and slaughters his own beef, but I cannot backup this claim. If you're ever in the neighborhood, do drop by.

I was only commenting on the "sause" from Rudy's. The original Salt Lick BBQ in driftwood is the best BBQ I've had. You walk in and smell nothing but smoke and meat, and are then greeted by some hot UT coeds, who also smell like smoke and meat. Oh, it's also BYOB.

Heaven!
