I'm to lazy to do a trip report, but thought I would share some pics of 3 days of Colorado wheeling. We did Engineer, Cinnamon, California, Imogene & Ophir passes over the 3 days. Weather was great and only got a small amount of rain at the end of the day on Sunday.IMG_8724.jpegIMG_8730.jpeg

Stopped in Lake City at the museum to see a little family history with my great grandfather before he homesteaded in Utah and started his cattle empire. He was part of the Alfred Packer group. (Preston Nutter)

Even though it's for sale, I had to bolt the slotted aluminum mag wheels on my wife's '65 Chevy II.

Can't believe how good it looks! 😍 Unfortunately the tires are too tall and rub the fender when turned. I'm going to buy a cheap set of low profile tires and keep working on the car.

Watched a neighbor pop an irrigation line yesterday. (Those fence posts are about 5ft so I figure that's about a 75ft geyser).

I grew up farming in SW Colorado for my Mom and Dad, from about the age of 11 - 19 changing water, driving swathers, bailers, etc. I hit my fair share of these. One time I hit one on a 4-wheeler while changing water because I was messing around, shot the riser by my head, not fun. If you want a sure-fire way to piss off your Dad and an annoying job fixing it, this is the way. My Dad would always gloat that he never in his life had hit one, and didn't get what was so hard about paying attention... We were bailing hay and I was there the day he hit his first and only... I stayed quiet.

I identify with this. I grew up as a farmhand working for the neighbors. We did get into many shenanigans that you describe above. Some others that are not described but in the same vein
