They did a car show at work today. @glockman and I put on a strong showing for the RME contingent. I shoulda taken more pics. Oh well. There was a Shelby Cobra, a chevelle, el Camino, and a few other classics. Then a bunch of late model cars. The mustang Mach e with full customization (grill sticker) really took the cake. This 50s Chev was the coolest. Full restoration and lots of money put into it.
The broncos had a strong contingent. For a minute I thought it was a dealership lineup 🤣

I never did post a pic of the finished dash all back together.

Again, took it apart to install the trailer brake controller, added a 6-button switch module (seen left of the radio) and wrapped the dash. With wrapping the dash I also painted the chrome AC vent bezels gloss black to match the exterior paint.

I know it’s not everyone’s style but I like it.

Thing still to eventually do, are relocate the cigarette plug if I think I’ll miss it (trailer brake controller takes its factory location) and maybe someday get rid of the red that’s on the locker control module.

I gotta admit I’m thoroughly impressed with how well the dash is engineered to go together and be serviceable. Granted it’s still a lot of plastic but it came apart without much struggle and went back together solidly.

So the quote is that they need to replace the entire window. Quoted at $295 installed. Isn’t terrible I guess but I expected to be able to just replace that small window. (I’m going through the A.R.E. dealer)

So what I think I’ll do is have them do that, then I’ll have them give me the old, original window setup and I’ll look into seeing if somewhere can just replace that glass panel itself, and that would give me a spare window assembly unit to swap in the future if I ever break another on that side.

Granted yes it would just be in storage until then but I can just throw it up in the attic of our shed so it’s not in my way at all.

Or, use the old frame to make a gullwing access door setup. ;) I assume Jeep-type people do that also.....I can't imagine it being a Land Cruiser exclusive idea.
