A co-worker of mine recently blew apart their transfer case due to a seized u-joint. I offered to swap the input shaft into a 242 I had laying around, but it turned out mine was the early style gear cut and his was the later style gear cut so that didn't work out.
I would like to find a 249 or a 242 either a post 94.5 or off a V8 GC with the extended input shaft. I can't throw a ton of money at this so I'm really hoping someone has done the 249 to 242 swap and still has the 249 sitting around, just taking up space. I have the input off the old 249 still.
