Maiden voyage!

Checked for square before finish welding all the leaf mounts this morning, torqued the wheels, and drove to Price from Springville to pick up a bandsaw.

Pulls really smooth! Unloaded is a little bouncy on the rough sections of road, but I figure that’s probably normal for a lightweight frame with 7,000lb springs.

Mounted this old tool box today, welded some angle and plate to the channel so I could bolt it without drilling into the channel itself.

I also need a new jack. I’m thinking one of these square tube drop jacks. Do these weld directly to the frame? I’m thinking I would want mount it between the coupler and tool box, by welding in a piece of channel. Any input on that?

I’m all about the boat jack with a wheel from HF. They flip up too. I’ve been using one on my carhauler for like 12 years.

I got tired of having no deck in the middle. Didn’t want to add a ton of weight, so I used these light aluminum planks from some old bleacher type seating I traded some HVAC work for. Need to finish up some brackets on them, but then will be good to go. Overall, probably only 15-20 pounds added. Definitely wouldn’t drive on them, but for general utility use, it’s better than nothing.
